2014 African Clean Water Project

Coconuts-copy2014 was a productive year for The Sky is Not Limted. Tiffany and Kevin Bailey, founders of The Sky is Not Limited, traveled to Tanzania with African Reflections Foundation CEO, USA, Jean Dobbs. This trip took place over 2 weeks from late July into early August 2014. While in Tanzania, the founders witnessed the building and operation of three new deep solar wells. These wells were located in the Mkuranga district of Tanzania, South of Dar es Salaam.

The first project, which was donated by The Flahive Family Foundation, was installed at the Mdimuni Dispensary. This hospital had no running water or electricity prior to this well’s installation. The local representation asked Kevin Bailey to help with the installation of a well at the local secondary school, which also has no running water. The Sky is Not Limited will hope to fund that well in 2015. For the opening of this well, local villagers gathered, sung songs, and offered coconuts to the Bailey’s as a thank you for the well project.

The second project was located at the Nyatanga Dispensary. This location was also known for not having any running water. As founders Kevin and Tiffany Bailey drove into the site for the first time, there were small children collecting drinking water from puddles on the side of the road. The opening of this well was brought on by singing and dancing by many local women. Many gifts were presented to representatives of The Sky is Not Limited and African Reflections Foundation by the local people.

The third well project was not completed by the time Kevin and Tiffany returned to the USA. This project was located at Tengelea Secondary School. They will hope to view this well in action when they return to Tanzania in 2015.
